Valuable People (Gen 1:26-27)

Join Pastor Stuart as we continue in our series, Values.

In this lesson, we turn to three passages of Scripture in Genesis 1:26-27, Genesis 9:6, and James 3:7-10 as we learn truths about God's . . . "Valuable People". In this lesson, we learn:

• People have significant value because God created us in his image.
• A few things we need to know about being the image of God:
  
  1. The image of God is not something in us or even done by us; it is our status.
  2. While sin prevents us from expressing the full measure of God’s image, our image of God status is not lost or destroyed by sin.
  3. Jesus is THE standard of the image of God.
• Since we have this status as God’s images, we value others above lesser goods.
• Therefore, you ought to
  1. Remind yourself daily about the image of God status of the people around you.
  2. Treat people accordingly.
• So, by the power of the Spirit and in the name of Jesus, let’s value others as images of God.

Valuable Words (Psalm 19:7-11)

In our fourth lesson, we turn to Psalm 119:7-11 to learn truths about God's . . . "Valuable Words". In this lesson, we learn:

• What God says to us is immensely valuable.
• God’s words are valuable to us for several reasons:
  
  1. They are God’s words.
  2. They are profitable to us.
  3. They show us Jesus, the Word made flesh.
• Therefore, we ought to spend time engaging God’s valuable words
  in the Scriptures.
• So, in the name of Jesus and by the power of the Spirit, let’s marinate in the Scriptures more and more.

Valuable Kingdom (Matt 13:44-46)

• The kingdom of God is exceedingly valuable.

Valuing Jesus Above All (Luke 14:25-33)

Evaluating Our Values (Matt 6:19-21)

His Witness (Acts 1:6-11)

• Because Jesus has come, we are to be witnesses to the ends of the earth.
  • People need Jesus.
  • Because of sin, our only hope is Jesus.
  • Because our hope is in Jesus, we can point others to the hope in Jesus.
  • Jesus invites us to pray that people will be a part of going and sharing the good news of the Gospel with the world.
• So let us be witnesses of Jesus to the ends of the earth.

The Simeon Response (Luke 2:25-35)

Joint Christmas Service 2022
