In this message, we are encouraged to always be ready to explain our hope in Christ. Here are some of the main points from the sermon:
- Being prepared begins and ends (and includes everything in-between) with Jesus.
- When we share our hope with others, we do so with gentleness and respect.
- We also want to make sure we have a good conscience when we give a reason for our hope.
- Let’s grow deeper in the hope we have in Christ and share that hope with others.

Good Life - Persecution for Following Christ (Matt 5:10-12)
Sunday Oct 12, 2025
Sunday Oct 12, 2025
Join Pastor Stuart for the last lesson in our series, The Good Life.
This week, we turn to Matthew 5:10-12 to learn how . . . "The Good Life = Persecution for Following Christ".
In this lesson, we learn:
- According to Jesus, those who are persecuted for following him have the good life.
- If we truly follow Jesus, we can expect some form of persecution.
- We experience God’s blessing in persecution in several ways:
- Persecution because of Jesus is part of our confirmation that we belong to him.
- Suffering refines the faith of those who belong to Jesus.
- The witness of the church is often strengthened through persecution.
- We are promised the kingdom.
- All of this shows us why we can rejoice and be glad when we are persecuted.
- So, let’s focus on Jesus knowing that nothing, not even persecution, can keep us from sharing in his glory.
