Join Pastor Stuart for the last lesson in our series, The Good Life.
This week, we turn to Matthew 5:10-12 to learn how . . . "The Good Life = Persecution for Following Christ".
In this lesson, we learn:
- According to Jesus, those who are persecuted for following him have the good life.
- If we truly follow Jesus, we can expect some form of persecution.
- We experience God’s blessing in persecution in several ways:
- Persecution because of Jesus is part of our confirmation that we belong to him.
- Suffering refines the faith of those who belong to Jesus.
- The witness of the church is often strengthened through persecution.
- We are promised the kingdom.
- All of this shows us why we can rejoice and be glad when we are persecuted.
- So, let’s focus on Jesus knowing that nothing, not even persecution, can keep us from sharing in his glory.
