- Because of the great privileges we have as citizens of Christ’s kingdom, we have great responsibilities.
- We are to strive for peace and holiness.
- We are to offer acceptable worship with reverence, awe, and gratitude.
- The “secret” of living out these responsibilities is Jesus.
- So, through Jesus and by the power of the Spirit let’s worship God acceptably and grow in Christlikeness.

- While discipline is not pleasant, it assures us of God’s love and trains us in the ways of Jesus.
- Therefore, we can rehearse these truths so that we will be encouraged to continue to struggle against sin.
- So, let’s submit ourselves to our Father’s discipline that we will be more and more conformed to Christ.

- Even the promises of the new covenant in Christ are better than God’s previous promises.
- Therefore, since Jesus is better, don’t deviate from him for lesser things..
- So let’s keep our attention fixed on Jesus and celebrate him always.

- Melchizedek is an interesting and mysterious character, but he is not the focus; Jesus is!
- Melchizedek’s priesthood is greater than the Levitical priesthood.
- God intended all along that the Levitical priesthood would be replaced by something better . . . the priesthood of Jesus.
- Because of his sinless life, substitutionary death, and resurrection from the dead, Jesus is able to serve as our perfect priest forever.
- Therefore, we can draw near to God daily through
Jesus, the ultimate High Priest. - So let’s celebrate our perfect, forever priest, Jesus!

- God has not only promised blessing, he also guaranteed it with an oath.
- Jesus has gone into the very throne room of heaven as our forerunner.
- This hope in Christ is a sure and steadfast anchor for us.
- Therefore, we ought to remind ourselves and others frequently of the exceedingly certain hope we have in Jesus.
- So, let’s hold fast to the certainty of what God has for us in Christ!

- It is impossible for those who apostatize from Christ to be restored to repentance.
- To commit apostasy is to abandon and renunciate Jesus.
- Apostasy and backsliding may be related but are definitively distinct.
- True saving faith perseveres.
- Therefore, we can cling to Jesus. He is our only hope.
- So, let’s be earnest to have the full assurance of our hope by clinging to Christ firm to the end.
