- Even the promises of the new covenant in Christ are better than God’s previous promises.
- Therefore, since Jesus is better, don’t deviate from him for lesser things..
- So let’s keep our attention fixed on Jesus and celebrate him always.

- Melchizedek is an interesting and mysterious character, but he is not the focus; Jesus is!
- Melchizedek’s priesthood is greater than the Levitical priesthood.
- God intended all along that the Levitical priesthood would be replaced by something better . . . the priesthood of Jesus.
- Because of his sinless life, substitutionary death, and resurrection from the dead, Jesus is able to serve as our perfect priest forever.
- Therefore, we can draw near to God daily through
Jesus, the ultimate High Priest. - So let’s celebrate our perfect, forever priest, Jesus!

- Jesus has gone into the very throne room of heaven as our forerunner.
- This hope in Christ is a sure and steadfast anchor for us.
- Therefore, we ought to remind ourselves and others frequently of the exceedingly certain hope we have in Jesus.
- So, let’s hold fast to the certainty of what God has for us in Christ!

- To commit apostasy is to abandon and renunciate Jesus.
- Apostasy and backsliding may be related but are definitively distinct.
- True saving faith perseveres.
- Therefore, we can cling to Jesus. He is our only hope.
- So, let’s be earnest to have the full assurance of our hope by clinging to Christ firm to the end.

- Maturity is not simply knowing more; it is pressing on to deeper expressions of our fellowship with Christ.
- Therefore, by the work of the Spirit, we can commit
to grow in maturity in Christ. - So, let’s pray for and pursue maturity in Christ.

- He sympathizes with our weaknesses.
- He has been tempted in every respect as we are, yet without sin.
- He deals gently with the ignorant and wayward.
- He is the source of eternal salvation to all who obey him.
- Therefore, because Jesus is our great high priest, we can hold fast to our confession.
- Furthermore, through Jesus, we can draw near to God daily with confidence to receive the mercy and grace we need.
- So, let’s celebrate our great high priest, Jesus!
