• God is the wellspring of every experience of joy we have.
• The greatest and most lasting joy is the fruit of the Spirit coming from our relationship with God through Christ.
• Therefore, we can pray for joy.
• So, let’s believe that as we ask our heavenly Father for the good gift of joy, he will give generously.

• We’re enabled to do these good works of love because of what Christ has done for us.
• Therefore, we can look for ways to encourage other Christ-followers to grow in love and good works.
• So, let’s flourish in stirring up one another to goodness and love.

• Christ-followers are called to invest in one another.
• As a covenant community, we don’t simply share information with one another; we share ourselves.
• The investment we make in others is an expression of love.
• Investing in others reflects the loving investment Christ has made in us.
• Therefore, we can intentionally invest in a few folks for Christ’s glory and their good.
• So, let’s invest well in others knowing the return on those investments is priceless.

• The church needs people with beautiful feet . . . that is, people who proclaim the good news of Jesus to others.
• At the heart of this good news is the reign of Jesus as Lord.
• The Lord who died and rose from the dead is abundantly able to bring salvation to all who call on him.
• A significant part of the mission of the church is to make sure people hear this good news.
• Therefore, we ought to be a part of the mission
  to spread the good news of Jesus.
• So, let’s do our part to bring the good news of Jesus to the world around us.

This week, we turn to the Apostle John's First Letter 1:5-10 for an exhortation reminding us that . . . "Truth is to be Practiced"

• The truth about truth is this: Truth is to be practiced.
• Three significant ways for us to practice the truth:
  1. We embrace our identity as those created to reflect God’s goodness and to have fellowship with him.
  2. We are quick to confess how we fall short.
  3. We cling to Jesus as our only hope and submit to him as Lord.
• Therefore, we ought to practice the truth.
• So, by the power of the Spirit and in the name of Jesus, let’s continue to grow in practicing the truth.

Join Pastor Stuart in our seventh lesson about The Truth About Truth.

This week, we turn to the Apostle Paul's Second Letter to Timothy 2:11-19 to see that . . . "Truth is to be Handled with Care"

• The truth about truth is this: Truth should be handled with care.
• This is true about all truth, but it is especially true when we are handling the truth of Scripture.
• We need to handle the Scriptures carefully because it is too easy to twist them to say what we want them to say.
• If we fail to see how the Scriptures point us to Jesus, we have failed to understand them correctly.
• Therefore, we ought to endeavor to know and understand God’s truth.
  
  • Ruminate on Scripture, especially on how it leads to Jesus!
  • Ask questions in community.
  • Pray.
  • Trust those who teach faithfully, but verify what they say.
• So, Let’s make every effort to handle God’s truth with the care it deserves.
